Yes, at 400 DPI a larger mousepad means fewer lifts.
It’s simple math: lower DPI = more physical distance per screen movement. A 45cm pad gives you maybe 35cm of usable width. At 400 DPI, that’s about half a screen of 1080p horizontal movement. You’ll be lifting every few seconds in an FPS.
A 90cm pad doubles that real estate. You can flick, track, and reposition without hitting the edge nearly as often. Less lifting means smoother aim and less frustration. The tradeoff is desk space and maybe your mouse cable snagging, but that’s manageable.
If you have the room, go for the big pad. Your wrist will thank you.
