Yes, but you probably won't notice with a good pad.
The charging coil is a rigid disc embedded under the surface. On cheap mousepads, that creates a visible bump you can feel with your mouse. On better ones — like the Logitech PowerPlay or Corsair MM1000 — the coil is thin, the top layer is thick enough to smooth it out, and the pad is designed specifically so the mouse glides flat across the whole surface.
If you’re using a $30 generic “wireless charging mousepad” from Amazon, you’ll probably feel a slight tilt or drag when the mouse passes over the coil zone. If you’re using a high-end system made for it, you won’t. The biggest variable is your mouse feet: big, smooth PTFE feet spread the pressure and glide right over the bump; tiny nubs catch on everything.
I’d only worry about it if you play competitive games at a high sensitivity where any imperfection throws off your aim. For office work and casual use, it’s a non-issue.
Save your money for the good pad if you’re a gamer. Otherwise, the bump is just a minor annoyance you’ll stop noticing after a day.
