Yes, the wind is way stronger on Hurricane Deck.
A lot, and yes.
The wind speed on an upper deck like Hurricane Deck isn’t just a little more—it can be double or more what you feel on the lower deck. Ships create their own wind from forward motion, and without any walls or structure to block it, that wind plus the natural wind combine into a constant blast. Lower decks stay sheltered because the hull, lifeboats, and rails break it up.
Spray volume is also noticeably worse. Waves that break against the hull send mist and water straight up. On the lower deck, most of that spray hits the hull first and falls back. Up top, you’re catching it full face. If the waves are big enough, it’s more like a fire hose than a mist.
Don’t go up there expecting a pleasant breeze. Go up because you want to feel like you’re in a movie.
