Yeti coolers are not worth the premium.

Yeti coolers are not worth the premium.

No, don’t spend the money unless you really want to flex on your camping buddies.

Here’s the thing: Yeti was first to market with a rotomolded cooler that actually kept ice for days. They built a brand around it. But the tech isn’t proprietary anymore. Companies like Pelican, RTIC, and even Walmart’s Ozark Trail make the exact same thing — double-wall foam insulation, rubber gaskets, bear-proof latches — for half the price.

I’ve used an RTIC for three years. It holds ice just as long as my friend’s Yeti. The only difference is the logo and a hundred bucks in my pocket. If you need a cooler that can survive a grizzly or a fall off a truck bed, get a rotomolded cooler. Any of them. Just not the expensive one.

This is not where you show off your disposable income.
