Yeti Roadie 24 is the best seat cooler, but RTIC is close enough.
Depends on how much you want to spend. Yeti Roadie 24 is the gold standard for a reason: it’s built like a tank, certified to hold 250+ lbs, and keeps ice for days. But you’re paying a premium for the name badge.
RTIC’s 20-quart is the smart money play. Same rotomolded construction, same bear-proof lid strength, shorter height but still comfortable for sitting. Costs about half. Ice retention is nearly identical.
Seat height matters. Taller folks might find the Yeti Roadie 24 more comfortable because it’s a few inches taller. Short people won’t care. Coleman and Igloo have cheap “seat coolers,” but the plastic hinges and thin walls will give out after one season of tailgating.
Don’t sit on a cheap cooler that’ll crack — you’ll end up tailgating in a puddle.
