Yeti's warranty and customer service are the gold standard.
Yes, you pay more upfront, but their warranty coverage and customer service reputation are unmatched. Yeti will repair or replace coolers for pretty much anything that isn’t your fault — even if you bought it secondhand or five years ago. They just ask for a photo and they ship a replacement.
RTIC and Pelican are close, but not as consistent. RTIC’s warranty is good, but their customer service gets mixed reviews on response times. Pelican has a lifetime guarantee, but you’ll run into more “we’ll consider it” language on their website. Yeti basically says “send a photo, we’ll make it right” with no fine-print runaround.
If warranty and support are your top priority, the Yeti premium is worth it. Not because the cooler is dramatically better than competitors, but because if something breaks, you’ll get a replacement without a fight. For something you’ll drag through truck beds and down rivers, that matters.
Don’t overthink it — Yeti’s the safe bet.
