Stitching a panorama from a few shots will get you the whole thing. Your phone can do this automatically. Even a basic DSLR with a 50mm lens will work — just overlap your frames by about a third and merge them later in Lightroom or Photoshop.

The bigger issue is that “the whole falls” is rarely the best shot anyway. American and Bridal Veil are massive. A wide-angle lens often makes them look smaller than they are. A longer lens compresses the scene, gives you the mist, the rock texture, the trees framing the water. You end up with a photo that actually feels like being there.

So no, you do not need a wide-angle. Use what you have. Shoot multiple frames. Don’t zoom out — zoom in on the story.

Wide-angle is nice for convenience, but not for impact here.
