You don't need a marine cooler.
Not unless you’re leaving it on a boat deck in direct sun for weeks at a time. A regular cooler works fine for 99% of beach trips, camping, and tailgates.
Marine coolers are built to survive saltwater, UV rays, and constant abuse. They have non-corroding latches, stainless steel hinges, drain plugs you can open from the outside (so you don’t tilt the whole thing), and thicker insulation. They’re also heavier and more expensive. A Yeti Tundra is basically a marine cooler for land.
But here’s the thing: a decent rotomolded cooler from Costco or Amazon will keep ice for three days and won’t rust unless you’re literally dunking it in the ocean every time.
