You need about a shot glass full.

A lot more than you think. Most people use half what they need and wonder why they still burn.

The standard is ¼ teaspoon for your face and neck, and about a full shot glass (30ml) for your whole body. That’s the amount they test SPF with in the lab. Cut that in half and you’re getting roughly half the protection number on the bottle.

It sounds like a lot because it is. Sunscreen is not supposed to disappear into your skin like a moisturizer. It sits on top and forms a film. If it’s vanishing, you’re probably not using enough.

Most people don’t want to hear they need to go through a bottle every few days at the beach. But the alternative is skin damage. You’re probably using about half what you need.
