You really don't need anything fancy to clean window screens.

Dish soap and a soft brush. That’s it.

Pop the screen out by lifting the metal tabs or pushing from the bottom. Lay it flat on the driveway or patio. Scrub gently with a brush dipped in dish soap and water. Rinse with a garden hose. Let it dry completely before putting it back.

While it’s off, check for three things: tears in the mesh, bent frames, and loose spline (the rubber cord holding the screen in). If the screen is stretched or sagging, you can re-spline it for a few bucks. Small pinholes? Ignore them. Big rips? Replace the mesh or buy a new screen—they’re cheap enough.

Your windows will look better, and you’ll be surprised how much dust was hiding in there.
