Your cheap A320 can probably run XMP—if you dig in the BIOS.

Probably, but you’ll have to set it manually.

AMD’s Ryzen 5 3600 has a solid memory controller, and most A320 boards—despite officially lacking memory overclocking support—got BIOS updates that let you tweak timings and voltage. XMP is just a profile; you can apply the same settings by hand. I’ve seen 3200 MHz CL16 work fine on cheap A320s with a 3600. 3600 MHz is a toss-up.

If your board’s BIOS has an “Advanced” or “DRAM Configuration” menu, you’re probably good. If it’s totally locked down, you’re stuck at 2133 MHz. Google your exact model + “Ryzen 3000 memory” first—someone has already tested it.

If it doesn’t work, don’t blame the motherboard—blame the silicon lottery.
