Your CPU almost certainly supports 32GB.

Yes, unless it’s ancient.

For any Intel Core from the 6th generation (Skylake, 2015) onward or any AMD Ryzen (all generations), the memory controller handles 32GB easily. Older stuff? Sandy Bridge (2011) and newer Intel desktop chips also support it. The bigger bottleneck is your motherboard – check its max supported capacity in the manual or manufacturer’s site.

Quickest way to be sure: Google your exact CPU model + “memory support”. Intel has ARK, AMD has product specs. Both list max memory capacity. 99% of CPUs made in the last ten years allow 32GB (often much more). If you’re on a DDR3 system from 2012, still probably fine, but double-check.

Don’t overthink this. Unless you’re running a netbook from 2009, you’re good.
