Your CPU handles 32GB fine (probably).
Unless your CPU is from 2012 or earlier, its memory controller can handle 32GB. The bigger headache is your motherboard.
Every modern CPU (Intel Core 6th gen and newer, AMD Ryzen 1000 series and newer) supports at least 32GB. The memory controller on those chips is built for 64GB or more. So the technical answer is: yes, it’s fine.
The real gotcha is motherboard support. Check your motherboard’s QVL (qualified vendor list) for 32GB kits, but honestly, any standard 2x16GB DDR4 or DDR5 kit works in 99% of boards from the last five years. If you’re worried, look up the CPU on Intel ARK or AMD’s product page. It’ll list max memory capacity.
Your CPU isn’t the bottleneck here. The motherboard’s BIOS and RAM slot configuration are where you might hit a snag. If you’re sticking with two sticks, you’re golden.
Future You won’t have issues, but double-check your motherboard manual if you’re feeling paranoid.
