Your friends will get over it
Handling social pressure or judgment when your habit change rattles your friends is mostly about not apologizing for your choices.
They’ll probably tease you, or act a little weird, because your change reflects on them. If you’re suddenly not drinking, the friend who drinks heavily might feel quietly judged. If you start waking up at 5am, the late-night crew might think you’re acting superior. It’s not really about you — it’s about them feeling the ripple of your decision.
The fix is to make it clear the change is about you, not them. Don’t over-explain. Don’t defend. Say something like, “I’m just trying something for a month to see how I feel,” or “I’ve got a goal I’m working on.” Then change the subject or ask them about their own thing. If they keep pushing, a simple “I appreciate you looking out, but I’ve got this” usually works.
