Your keto lunchbox answer is glass, not non-stick
For keto lunches with oily food and sauces, glass containers beat plastic, stainless steel, and every “non-stick” lunchbox on the market.
Plastic is the worst offender — it absorbs grease and stains from turmeric, tomato, and chili oil no matter how well you scrub. Stainless steel is better, but not perfect: acidic sauces can leave a metallic taste, and oily residue still clings after a quick rinse. As for those non-stick or coated compartments that claim easy cleaning? They exist, but they’re a gimmick. The coating scratches off with normal use, and then you’re back to the same problem plus flaking.
Glass is non-porous, so nothing soaks in. Oil wipes off with one pass of soapy water. If you need compartments, get a glass bento-style container with a few sections, or use small silicone sauce cups tucked into a single large container. The weight is the only downside, and honestly it’s worth it for never having to fight with a greasy stained box again.
Your greasy leftovers will thank you.
