Your medicine cabinet needs a sidekick.

Medicine cabinets are great for daily essentials, but they fill up fast — you need a small secondary storage solution to break the counter clutter.

The problem isn’t that you have too much stuff (maybe you do, but let’s be real, that’s fixable later). The problem is that your toiletries don’t have a designated home outside the medicine cabinet. Once that mirror door shuts, everything left out looks messy because it has nowhere else to go.

Get a slim wall-mounted shelf right next to the sink — one that holds the three or four things you use every day (toothbrush, toothpaste, lotion). Or grab a small caddy that lives under the sink and comes out only when you need it. I’m partial to a clear acrylic shelf that blends in. Don’t overthink it.

Also, take a hard look at what’s actually on the counter. If you haven’t used that fancy serum in three months, toss it or move it to a drawer. Your counter is prime real estate, not a warehouse.
