Your mousepad is not the problem.

Probably not. Most soft cloth mousepads are made of polyester or neoprene, which don’t warp or delaminate from laptop heat — they just get warm. The real risk is covering the laptop’s exhaust vents with any surface, not what that surface is made of.

If your gaming laptop already runs hot (most do), putting it on a soft pad can trap heat and choke airflow. That’s bad for the laptop’s internals long before it damages the mousepad. The pad itself will be fine; the thermal paste and fans in your laptop won’t.

If you’re worried about the pad sticking or soaking up sweat over time, that’s a hygiene thing, not a warping thing. Wash it or replace it. But no, your mousepad isn’t going to delaminate from a hot chassis. Your battery’s health is a bigger concern.

Don’t block the vents. Everything else is fine.
