Your mousepad should span your arm reach.

Yes, especially with a low sensitivity and multiple monitors. If you have to lift and reposition your mouse every time you cross from the left screen to the right, the setup is fighting you.

You don’t need a mousepad as wide as your full arm span at full extension. But you do need one that lets you sweep from one edge to the other without reaching your physical limit. That usually means a desk pad at least 30 inches wide. The depth matters too—12 inches or so so you can push forward or pull back without falling off.

High DPI setups need less space, but even then, a big pad makes the experience smoother. You stop thinking about the mouse and start thinking about the work. That’s the point.

A cheap extended pad from Amazon does the job. Your wrist will thank you.
