Your old makeup bag is already a pencil pouch

The quickest DIY pencil pouch is just an old makeup bag or zipper pouch you clean out and put pencils in. No sewing, no cutting, no craft store run.

Empty it, wipe the inside with a damp cloth and a drop of dish soap, and let it air out. If it’s fabric and smells like old foundation, toss it in a pillowcase and run it through the washing machine on cold. Let it dry fully before loading it up.

A couple of quick upgrades if the bag is beat up: stick a piece of cardboard cut to size in the bottom so it doesn’t collapse, and rub a pencil tip or candle
