Your pool pump is probably on too long.
Most pools don’t need 8–12 hours of filtration a day — 4–6 hours is enough once the water is clear. Run it during off-peak electric hours (check with your utility) and use a timer. If you have a single-speed pump, that’s the real energy hog. A variable-speed pump pays for itself in a year or two and lets you run at lower speeds for longer with way less power.
Skipping filtration altogether is a bad idea (green water, algae), but cutting runtime in half? Totally fine. Your electric bill will thank you.
