Your Q1 goal is probably a performance goal
If your goal depends on an outcome you can’t fully control, it’s a performance goal — and that’s a problem for habit design.
Performance goals are about proving something. “I will get 1000 subscribers.” “I will lose 15 pounds.” “I will hit a $50k revenue month.” The problem is you don’t control the result. You can do everything right and still fail because of market, biology, or luck. That makes the goal fragile, and when you slip, it feels like failure. That feeling kills the habit before it has a chance to stick.
Learning goals, on the other hand, are about the process. “I will publish one video per week and study what works.” “I will cook dinner at home four nights a week.” “I will make five cold calls a day and track objections.” You control the action.
