Ziplock everything and freeze a water bottle.

Sand gets into food because you leave it exposed. The fix is a few ziplock bags and a frozen water bottle acting as an ice pack.

Pack your lunch in an insulated lunchbox or a small cooler. Use a solid ice pack or a frozen water bottle at the bottom, then layer on your food. Every item goes into its own ziplock bag or airtight container — no exceptions. The point isn’t just to keep sand out; it’s so you can pull out a sealed bag, eat, and put the mess back in the bag without getting sand on your hands.

Keep the whole box in the shade under a towel, and don’t open it until you’re ready to eat. The frozen bottle will keep things cold for hours, and by lunchtime you’ll have ice-cold water to drink.

Sand wins if you give it a chance. Don’t give it one.
